What You Do During the Day Can Affect How You Sleep at Night Part 2

There are so many factors that go into how well you sleep at night, including what you do during the day.

Many people know that what they do right before bed can impact their sleep. However, the quality of your sleep doesn’t just depend on what you do at night; what you do during the day can also have an impact. In our last blog, we went over a few daytime tips that could help you sleep better at night. Here are a few more:

#4. Exercise early in the day.

When you are struggling with getting quality sleep, implementing a regular exercise routine is key for improving your sleep. However, when you work out matters. If you exercise too close to bed, you’ll have too much adrenaline to go to sleep. Try to work out in the morning or the afternoon, and if you must work out in the evenings, give yourself a few hours before you go to bed.

#5. Eat bigger meals earlier.

If you are like most people in the United States, you probably eat your biggest daily meal in the evening at dinner time. However, there are many foods that could cause indigestion or other sleep disrupters, so try to make lunch the biggest meal of the day, and stick with smaller meals for dinner. It’s also important to eat dinner relatively early.

#6. Limit your caffeine intake in the afternoon.

Caffeine can stay in your system much longer than most people think, and even if you think that it doesn’t affect you, there’s a good chance that it is affecting the quality of sleep you get. You are safe to get your caffeine fix in the morning, but try to limit your afternoon intake.

There are so many things that can affect your ability to sleep at night, but if you are struggling to sleep, the first thing you should do is consult your doctor. Millions of people suffer from sleep apnea, and many of them don’t even know that they have it. The answer to your sleep issues could lie in one of our used CPAP or BIPAP machines.
